Terrified (and maybe a little excited) at the prospect of beer-bellied lycra.
That’s great news. And I’m really happy that Fun Machine have scored the support. Nothing against Tonk. They are a good live band but they seem to have had their fare share of support gigs and it’s nice to see someone else get a go. I’ve only ever seen about 3 songs live of Fun Machine and I really enjoyed it.
I think Fun Machine will suit really well. They are good band who don’t take themselves too seriously. The Darkness are a good band who also don’t take themselves too seriously. Different styles of music, yes. That is a good thing. I think some gig goers need to be much more adventurous and enjoy music that comes in a mixed bag. It’s music and it’s fun. I’m guessing that’s what the theme of this night will be predominantly about.

If you haven’t heard of The Darkness you have been living under a rock.
…have you been speaking with my wife…?

@Jim Jones Fun Machine is obviously an outstanding choice to support the darkness. This will be a great gig because of both acts. Brilliant that the support is local talent.
Tonk are local and actually suit the style of music.
Fun Machine are some hipster band.
The Drakness, over-rated 70’s revivalists. May as well get a Nazareth tribute band in.

Will be good to see a big name international band at the ANU again. I saw some great ones there in the 90s including Nirvana of course.
Brian Jonestown Massacre, 18th May.
Ripper Owens, May 25th, The Basement

Big name international band? Never heard of them. Probably couldn’t hold a torch on Iron Maiden.
…and what’s the drummer doing at the front? Don’t they know there are rules about these sorts of things?

I saw them play years agp at the Big Top in Sydney, full house, Justin with a pot-belly and a headfull of blow. They absolutely ROCKED.
Could be an great gig if they remember how to work a small venue. Hopefully Justin’s form isn’t entirely fueled by Colombian marching powder.

Should be good. But not as good as G3, which is on tonight!
Why would Fun Machine be chosen as support? Seems the most unlikely fit.
Tonk would be the obvious choice.
