My routes are basically unaffected except for giving them snazzy new names with single digits!

when they actually make improvements not a restoration back to the old service as this is. I’ll be sticking to the faithful car until they actually develop a useful bus service that takes you somewhere without going in the most indirect route possible and visiting 4 other suburbs. People in canberra aren’t going to catch a bus service that takes 40 minutes to somewhere where they can drive in 10-15 minutes. simple as that.
When are they going to institute a route that goes from Weston Creek direct to the city without having to bloody go through Woden interchange.
Jazz: better for Gungahlin people working at Russell and Snowtown that’s for sure. We’ve been lobbying for a year for a route to service the BBP workers and Route 737 is the outcome of our efforts.
The interesting sideline was that Majura Road was our preferred route but the gridlock on it made that direction out of the question. But the alternative was able to go past the Russell offices, thereby helping the growing number of Defence workers we have at Gungahlin.
But they’ll have to get going early as ACTION said they will likely have the final morning service on that route starting out at 7.24am – again beause of the absurb Piallago gridlock (itself an indictment on the previous federal government).
NH: Tom Elliott told our meeting last week that for simplicity, they’ll be running the same schedules 7 days a week, so that should address your concern.
There’ve been some other changes to the services to pick up new areas of Forde and Franklin, plus other tweaking out our way. So we’ve been pretty comfortable with the way Tom and others in ACTION have engaged with us to work through these issues.
Well, no change for me. 28 is still not worth taking if you work strange hours. Apparently we don’t need a service between 9am and 2:30pm. Nor one after 7pm.
This is why I drive my own car, and my housemate does too.
How about having buses that actually run beyond 5pm on Sundays, thatd be good!
“New Xpresso Route 737 from the City to Brindabella Park” – I believe that’s long been a bone of contention with those who work in Snowtown?
