ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery that occurred at the IGA supermarket, Holt Place, Holt last night (Saturday, June 2).
About 8pm, a man armed with a knife entered the supermarket and demanded cash and cigarettes.
The cashier complied with the demands and provided the man with cigarettes and a sum of money which were placed into two bags. The man fled the store and was last seen running towards Beaurepaire Crescent, Holt.
The Specialist Response and Security Canine Team attended the scene a short time later but were unable to locate the offender.
The man is described as approximately 6 foot (182cm) in height, with a slim build. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and dark coloured pants, white gloves and shoes. He had his hood pulled up with a white face covering underneath.
Anyone who may have seen a man matching the description around the Holt Shops and surrounding area at the time, or may have information which could assist police with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
