A 19-year-old Belconnen man will face court this morning (Friday, June 29) over an alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 16.
Police will allege the offence occurred between February 2011 and March 2011, when the girl was aged 13.
The man attended the Winchester Police Centre yesterday (Thursday, June 28), where he was interviewed by detectives from Criminal Investigations Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT).
He was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House, where he was charged with one count of sexual intercourse with a young person.
The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, where police will be opposing bail.
