Hello sports fans – With no decent free2Air TV coverage of the Euro 2008 Finals games I was wondering if there was anywhere that anyone knew of that was showing the Games live? maybe some 24/7 club around that would be showing it?

Hi, Norvan. Though this thread has disappeared off the front page, I’m hoping you’ll get this via email as the original poster. (Didn’t want to start a new thread on an old topic.)
My suggestions on a place to see the EK 2008 games publicly were both no good, and now with SBS’s coverage going into hibernation until the final, I’m starting to run out of options to see the Quarter Final (en ik hoop het wel) the Semi Final.
Did you have any luck finding a public venue?
Appreciate your reply here, otherwise, if you put “Overheard Productions” into a search engine search you’ll find contact details for me.
Hartelijk bedankt, meneer.

Setanta is $14.95 a month or $12.95 if you sign up for a yearly contract and I think you do need to have Foxtel.
They don’t have a lot of other sports on so probably not worth getting.
Round-ball loving acquaintances of mine seem to go to the Ainslie Footy Club for their fix.

Surprisingly good (except when the server disappears from time to time).
Actually, I’m about fifth generation Australian with Irish/English heritage.
Maar ik praat een beetje nederlands. As you do.
And the Netherlands is my third team after Australia and Republic of Ireland. Enjoy your breakfast, but I’ll be watching the game on Saturday morning through one eye and then slipping back under the covers.
Anyone out there up for a Saturday morning breakfast?
Goeden middag, Norvan Vogt. Kijk uit: the Saturday game (Nederland en Frankrijk) is actually at 4.45am. And yes, it’s on SBS.
Dickson Tradies is always a good bet, and the Belconnen Soccer Club at Hawker was open for all of the Euro 2004 games. Not out that way anymore so I haven’t checked.
Succes voor Nederland! Tot ziens.
@S4anta being of clog-wog(Dutch) origins I don’t thing the Australia-Italian club would have been the best place to be this morning 🙂
@Skidbladnir – that would be a great thing to do but the Dutch Australia club in Canberra went the way of the dodo in the 1980’s. #sob#
I’ll be looking forward to the Netherlands v France 2am on Saturday.
Hup Holland hup!
it’s on sentanta, whatever that is. does the $29 mean you already need to have fox?
i’ll guess dickson tradies will whack it on for you if you rocked in and asked…
sbs have an hour’s highlights each game day at half five in the pee em.
go italy!
SBS get: Spain V Russia 2am on Wed, Netherlands v France 2am on Sat, Turkey V Czech Republic 4:45am Mon 16th, Austria V Germany 4:45am Tues 17th, Netherlands V Romania 4:45am Wed 18th, Russia V Sweden 4:45am Thurs 19th, plus the Final.
Setanta is $29 for a month. Online sign up is instant as opposed to waiting ages on the phone.
Have seen it advertised on Fox on the Setanta channel, but it looks like that could be a pub sports channel. Shame as I was looking forward to watching it. Never been a soccer fan until I lived in Europe for a while and didn’t have a choice.
Pick a nationality thats involved, and attend their local club.
(Hellenic is doing “selected games only”)
I thought SBS was broadcasting it. Fox arent showing it. I wasnted to watch the Netherlands/Italy game and it wasnt on any of the Fox channels.
