ACT Policing are calling for witnesses to an assault and home invasion in Mawson last night, (Friday 20 July).
At about 9pm a man answered a knock at his front door and was then set upon by several unknown males armed with metal poles.
He was hit numerous times with the metal poles before the offenders fled on foot.
The man is currently undergoing assessment at The Canberra Hospital.
A red Ford Laser that was seen driving away at high speed from Mawson at the time of the incident is also of interest to police.
