The word is ‘have’ not ‘of’.
p.s. I have no life..
Also, it’s aisle, not isle.
(Sorry! Normally I hate grammar nazi antics, but I though that the ‘some people seriously have no life’ post warranted a reply just as useless as itself….!) Hahahaha!

Fun. At. Parties.
Chilli out.
This is a change. I remember a few years ago they had the Old El Paso stuff in the Asian Food section. I had no idea the continental drift had become so pronounced.

May be a troll question, but you do realise that Coles is rearranging their stores and quite a number of aisles may be affected hence the signage hasn’t caught up with the moves?
I am convinced Coles have done extensive research, and have complicated formulas’ to calculate the perfect balance point between the cost of a rearrange of the shelves vrs the extra time people spend in the store looking for something which has moved (and buying some thing extra while they are there).

Its happening at Coles Gungahlin, where you go to the ‘sugar’ aisle and there isn’t any sugar in that aisle, its actually been moved two aisles across.
Just saying, lets not bring out the race/migrant card – “We all look the same to you, don’t we Costanza”
ah, so it’s those damn migrants not moving signs with goods as they rearrange our sacred food source places, is it? taking our jobs then not even stuffing them up as well as we could… 🙂

Calling Old El Paso brand Mexican (Indian) Food is tantamount to calling McDonalds a chain of Scottish Restaurants.
Would that improve the flavour?

Also, there have been several references to Inca Indians on this blog; in the context of Mexican food those references should be to Aztec Indians. The Mayans were in Central America and the Incas were located thousands of miles to the South and had a very different diet. The only thing the Incas have in common with the Mayans & Aztecs are that the Spaniards stuffed them all.

Happy to bet a hundred smackeroonis that before today you had NEVER referred to Mexican food as “Indian food”! In Australia, Indian food is from India. Your need to contradict the OP is taking you over the shark!
Damn! You have seen through my shit stirring antics…

It’s brown-people food, what’s the difference.
(NB: as a brown person I am allowed to say this. But you white people aren’t. Ha!)

I thought beans and Indians almost equals Blazing Saddles.
Thanks Jason!
How about some more beans, Mr. Taggart?

Now indian has become a generic term for the indigenous populations of a country. Certainly of broad enough application to describe incans or mayans.
Sure you’re not thinking of “aborigine”? I’ve heard that used in reference to various native peoples, never “indian”.
Hmmm, Soft bread, spicy meat, weird sauce and a side of rice… Seems Indian enough to me.

And the Mexicans are Indians, sort-of. ‘Cept you’re not allowed to call Native Americans “Indians” any more. And god help your soul if you’re caught referring to them as Red Indians.
Native Americans were called indians, I believe, because when columbus landed he thought he’d found a new route to India. Now indian has become a generic term for the indigenous populations of a country. Certainly of broad enough application to describe incans or mayans.
Although the capitalisation of Indian raises some questions, because it’s at the start of a sentence fragment so unclear whether it’s being used as a proper noun or not.
Someone should raise this with them ASAP and report back.

Woolies do this too, but I think they usually use the more generic term “asian food”.
Unfortunately the influx of European immigrants since the second world war and subsequent integration of their cuisines into the Australian diet means we can’t just call this grocery-enclave simply “Not good old British vittles, eh wot!” (or similar)
I think the supermarkets should just bite the bullet and use the technically more accurate label of “other” and thus be able to put all sorts of new and delicious tastes in there without having to get the signs reprinted.
Far fetched but did they mean West Indies? (still off by about 3000Km)
I don’t see what the problem is.
