Has anyone thought of parking at the college or under the apartment buildings across from the RTA and walking 2 minutes or does walking defeat the purpose of owning a car?

Confucius (standing near the 4wd) says size of man’s automobile is proportional to size of his member.
Inversely.
Thanks. I will remember this with pride the next time I park my Barina in front of the tree poles ( a bit further back).
Same in my Subaru Sherpa. I parked it in front of those tree poles next to a Landcruiser one night and the Landcruiser was still protruding further into the road.
To be honest, I’m not going to say anything negative about the owner of the above vehicle. I’ve driven those cruisers and I’ve been to Dickson of a Saturday night. Sometimes that’s the choice. I’m guilty of many creative parking excercises in that area while picking up takeaways. Sometimes you gotta do what you do.
As for the big “No Parking” wall opposite, isn’t that whole area private property? The advice on the wall is more for daytime use to ensure delivery trucks can get in there. Saturday night it’s a free-for-all. If you have anger issues over the way people park in Dickson then I recommend you avoid the place on a Saturday night, or walk there.

You have made me start looking at Russian auto videos, which are fairly amazing. For a brilliant (if environmentally worrying) recovery from bad parking, how about this:

i love the cars that park in the driveway opposite this spot, against a wall that has ‘no parking’ in letters about three feet high for the hard of seeing. i have on occasion pointed these letters out to fok alighting from vehicles thus parked but the drivers have shrugged their shoulders at me and dismissed my concerns that their selfish arrogance makes it more difficult for other drivers. ah well, bogans is bogans…
Times like that I usually whip the camera out….nothing pisses me more than inconsiderate morons esp as a Disabled person permit holder and not being able to get a spot because of lazy people without permits parking in the disabled bays…. I hope some of them have been hit with fines with some of the pics I have got…

A good deterrent would be a few punctured tyres…
