The Liberals are getting the love from one Craig Edwards to the tune of $7,500

But party boss Tio Faulkner is also chipping in $2,000

Wouldn’t it be more surprising if Tio wouldn’t put his own money in?

Quite right Glen, in fact the surprise to me is he’s put so little in comparatively. The Greens MLAs have all put a lot more than that in to their own party, as have some on the Labor side.
I do wonder though, how did Tio get away with putting only a PO Box on the register?
It hasn’t got anything to do with being paid and not submitting time sheets, has it?????

Note that the VC of UC has shelled out some of his hard earned for the ALP and the ALP alone. Though, hardly surprising given he was a member of the Brittish Labour Party militant left I guess…
Also I’m sure he sees it as a way of further cementing ALP support for his little empire building venture in creating a multi-sector tertiary institute.
UC is an ACT Government legislated and controlled entity, with the Chief Minister appointing more than half of the Council and approving all other appointments. While they have some autonomy, it wouldn’t take much for the government to get its way with the Uni.
As long as the $$ came from the VC’s own hefty pay cheque, then it’s no different to any other donation.
Apart from a potential conflict of interest.
Once upon a time, people in those types of positions had the decency to at least pretend to be apolotical. Now it just make every UC announcement look even more politically motivated than it already did.

That’s a fine cotton shirt you’re wearing today CSRI
and they seem to be getting value for money too with the UC hospital, Brumbies sporting complex etc. No wonder it’s a signed deal.
