Music festival Spilt Milk is returning home to Canberra this year.
Artists will descend on Canberra on Saturday, 13 December, with all signs pointing to a massive line-up.
Director and Kicks Entertainment co-founder Ryan Sabet said he was proud to bring back the Canberra-born event after it secured money from the ACT Government’s Major Event Fund.
“[The government’s] funding allows us to keep delivering an unforgettable festival experience while giving back to the city that shaped us,” he said.
“It’s about more than music – it’s about contributing to the local economy, supporting local businesses and of course, celebrating the vibrancy of our community.”
The festival’s 2024 tour was cancelled via social media.
“Sorry pookies, we couldn’t get you the Spilt Milk you deserved this year,” it stated.
“Sooo imma dip for a bit and come back when I can make all ur dreams come true.”
The 2025 announcement didn’t provide any further explanations, instead highlighting the success of its 2023 event.
Post Malone headlined the festival in 2023 and pop-up pill testing was also available.
More than 170,000 tickets nationwide were sold to the 2023 events in a matter of weeks, drawing audiences from across the country to its various locations.
The festival is expected to deliver a minimum economic impact of $63.4 million to the Canberra region over the next three years. However, the festival’s media statement highlighted its presence would be “contingent on continued funding support” from the ACT Government.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr acknowledged Spilt Milk’s “important place” in Canberra.
“This festival has firmly established itself as a highlight on Canberra’s events calendar, drawing national and international acts and delivering unforgettable experiences for locals and visitors alike,” he said.
“Major events like Spilt Milk are vital tourism drivers that bring energy and excitement to our city while contributing significantly to the ACT’s visitor economy.
“The ACT Government’s support for Spilt Milk recognises the event’s important place in Canberra’s annual calendar, and its track record of delivering a high-quality festival experience. We look forward to another exciting edition in the nation’s capital.”
The full line-up announcement is expected next week with tickets on sale from Thursday (8 May).
