Celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of Aboriginal people at Tuggeranong Arts Centre this NAIDOC week.
A variety of events, including workshops and exhibitions, are happening from 5 July to 12 July.

TRUE: Kevin Gilbert (1933–1993) is an exhibition of prints and poetry by Kevin Gilbert, that recalls the artist, writer and activist, beginning in what would have been his 92nd year. Celebrate his life and art with images and poetry created during his life, along with works editioned for the first time.
From Country is a collaborative art exhibition by Megan Daley (Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri) and Rechelle Turner (Wiradjuri) that delves into their deep-rooted connection to Country and the timeless stories it holds.

Bogong moth lino block, 2024
From Country: Lino Cut Printmaking
Join First Nations artists Rechelle Turner and Megan Daley for a two-hour workshop and learn to use lino and block inks to create your own “From Country” themed print to take home. Participants are invited to bring images of Country (birds, animals, trees, insects, flowers) to use for inspiration.

Kevin Gilbert: Poetry Reading
Enjoy an evening of poetry by Kevin Gilbert surrounded by his artworks. The event will be introduced by Ellie Gilbert with readings by Gilbert family members along with the artists voice recorded by CAAMA in 1990.

Yuma Yarn

Wiradjiri artist Rechelle Turner will introduce you to the joyful meditative practice of slow-stitched coiled weaving. As you weave, Murawari musician Belle Whyte will perform and share her cultural stories along with Rechelle
