Three men and one woman have been charged in 24 hours over separate alleged family violence offences throughout Canberra.
All four people are scheduled to front the ACT Magistrate’s Court today (18 June).
An 18-year-old woman was arrested at about 11:15 pm on Tuesday (17 June) after allegedly kicking, hitting and spitting on her former partner while in a parked car in Bonner.
A 40-year-old Macgregor man was also arrested last night for allegedly punching his partner and assaulting his daughter as she recorded the incident.
They have both been charged with two counts of aggravated common assault. The 40-year-old man has also been charged with aggravated property damage.
Two men were also arrested yesterday (17 June) for alleged family violence incidents.
A 39-year-old Greenway man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and contravening a family violence order after allegedly throwing items at his partner and assaulting her on two separate occasions last week.
A 47-year-old Palmerston man has been accused of driving erratically with his partner and two children in the vehicle, and later assaulting his partner in their home on Saturday (14 June). He’s been charged with aggravated assault.
ACT Policing has encouraged anyone experiencing family violence to contact police on 131 444 when it is safe to do so, or to call Triple Zero (ooo) in an emergency.
Support services can also provide crisis support, safety planning, and advice.
