Employees struggling to navigate a maze of HR systems and wellbeing apps could soon turn to a trusted, relevant and genuinely engaging solution announced by a Canberra-based global healthcare provider.

Aspen Medical, in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), has announced Vitaport – one of the world’s first workforce wellbeing platforms to use “agentic AI” for hyper-personalised health, wellbeing and workplace support.

Agentic AI is the next step up from traditional AI.

Instead of responding to prompts, it can take the initiative to plan and carry out tasks on its own. In this case to act as a seamless “digital front door”, helping employees zero in and use the right health and wellbeing resources, organisational assets and company policies, tailored for relevance to daily life.

The industry-agnostic solution is available to any company or association looking to make a real change in the wellbeing outcomes of its workforce. Early adopters include companies in banking, insurance and resources sectors.

At its core, Vitaport is designed to make the workplace feel more connected and less cluttered. Employees can access curated content from some of Australia’s leading clinical providers, including The Lifestyle Suite, Metaluma, Digital Wellness, Coach Welly, Energy Flex, and Wexer.

Every organisation’s toolbox is unique with its own mix of policies, assets and cultural resources.

For leaders, the platform offers a holistic view of their teams, bringing together key documents and tools in one central location.

Importantly, the platform is safeguarded by Aspen Medical’s clinical governance and built on enterprise-grade data security, ensuring every interaction is evidence-based, safe and confidential, addressing employer and employee trust requirements.

“It’s important to acknowledge agentic AI is only as powerful as the governance and integrity that support it,” Aspen Medical chief technology and security officer Sanja Marais said.

“We have integrated Aspen Medical’s clinical governance framework to ensure Vitaport delivers health and wellbeing solutions responsibly, combining personalisation and innovation with trust.”

Ms Marais said with people “busier, more stressed and overloaded with information than ever before”, this kind of holistic approach to employee wellbeing and day-to-day management solved a real-world problem.

“Technology is evolving at a rapid rate and it’s no longer good enough to expect employees will engage with documents that companies have hosted online, on a staff intranet or on a notice board,” she said.

“Employees need to be able to genuinely and meaningfully engage with that content. We believe technology like this will also directly contribute to the success and sustainability of all organisations, irrespective of industry.”

The partnership with AWS granted the use of advanced AI technology from Amazon Bedrock – a powerful upgrade allowing the AI assistant to better understand questions, respond more accurately and guide employees to the right content with fewer errors.

Aspen Medical has invested $5 million in the software as a service (SaaS) technology.

Aspen Medical executive chair and founder Glenn Keys AO said Vitaport was a natural fit for Aspen Medical – a company recognised for delivering healthcare to some of the most challenging environments in the world, with a commitment to governance and data security.

“Aspen Medical has always been at the forefront of innovation and excellence in healthcare,” he said.

“Vitaport allows us to extend our expertise and passion for quality care into new realms.

“By applying agentic AI within a clinically governed, secure framework, Vitaport sets a new standard for service and technology, empowering employees and organisations.”
