A man allegedly indecently assaulted two women in public, at a grocery store and on a street, on two separate days earlier this month.

While the alleged offender, a 42-year-old man, has been arrested, ACT Policing is continuing its investigation.

The man allegedly indecently assaulted the first woman inside a grocery store in Civic at around 4 pm on 13 September, a police spokesperson said.

Then, at about 5:30 pm on 15 September, a woman was walking with her boyfriend along Alinga Street in Civic when she was allegedly indecently assaulted by the same man as well.

Both women described their alleged attacker as Caucasian in appearance with short hair and aged in his 30s or 40s.

Police began an investigation before arresting the 42-year-old at a home in Turner.

He was charged with two counts of committing an act of indecency without consent and faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday (22 September).

“The investigation into the man’s actions is continuing and further charges may be laid,” a police spokesperson said.
