Australia’s largest real estate group is expanding its Canberra footprint, with a new office in Manuka launched to tap into the capital’s high-end property market.
The move marks a strategic step for Ray White Canberra, led by Ben Faulks and Scott Jackson, as the group strengthens its presence in the city’s inner south — an area synonymous with prestige homes and long-established agencies.
Ray White Canberra chairman Ben Faulks said the move was a “natural progression” for Ray White, which already sells one in nine homes across the capital and markets 2.4 times more luxury properties over $5 million than any other group across Australia and New Zealand.
“Around Australia and New Zealand, Ray White is the luxury brand of choice, so it is a natural part of our evolution to bring that service offering to Canberra’s core prestige markets,” he said.
“I think it’s down to the legacy of a family-owned business that understands that selling luxury homes is about taking the time to understand the objectives of clients. It takes a very tailored approach at that end of the market.
“That exceptional customer service is complemented by industry-leading technology, including our proprietary tech platform Nurture Cloud, which is designed to bring more transparency to the sales process for the seller, and our Pulse platform, which empowers our salespeople with tools to better service our clients.”
The new office, designed by Capezio & Copeland, will house a team dedicated to Canberra’s upper-tier suburbs, reinforcing the company’s position in the luxury market.
The expansion coincides with renewed momentum in the Canberra market, driven by recent interest rate cuts and changes to the First Home Buyer Grant.
Mr Faulks said he anticipated these changes would soon flow through to the upper end of the market, particularly in Canberra’s inner south.
“In Canberra, momentum builds from the bottom up. That’s been happening for the past six months, and with a concentration of high-end homes in the inner south, that area is poised to see the benefits very soon,” he said.
Ray White managing director Dan White said the expansion reflected the group’s decades-long history in the prestige segment.
“We haven’t always told that story as loudly as others, but the luxury property segment is so important to our group,” he said.
“Luxury property isn’t just a market segment for Ray White; it’s a legacy of leadership and expertise that defines our group’s dominance in prestige real estate.
“Our prestige clients represent the pinnacle of the market where Ray White has quietly been the market leader, and now it’s about celebrating and showcasing that leadership position more prominently.”
Mr White said the staff were expert collaborators in the sale of luxury homes.
“When you’re dealing with luxury properties and high-net-worth clients, you’re not just selling a house; our agents become trusted advisers,” he said.
“Understanding family legacies and providing discretion and strategic counsel is a highly prized commodity. These are not just real estate transactions.
“We have some of the best prestige agents in the country with us and have no doubt the Manuka team will rise to the same high standard of excellence in marketing, care and attention to detail.”
