Police are investigating the alleged theft of about $4000-worth of items from Sydney Airport and have released a photo of a woman who may be able to help with their inquiries.

An Australian Federal Police (AFP) spokesperson said a Camilla silk scarf, Fendi sunglasses and a GHD hair straightener were allegedly stolen from a retail store in Sydney Airport’s domestic terminal two.

These alleged thefts took place on the mornings of 3 and 7 September as well as 29 October.

“As part of the investigation, the AFP has released CCTV of a woman seen in the area on those dates who officers would like to speak to,” the police spokesperson said.

“On one occasion, the woman was seen boarding a flight to Canberra.”

The spokesperson described the woman as having a Middle Eastern appearance, with long brown hair, and speaking with a lisp.

She was seen carrying a maroon handbag, a second black bag, as well as a green or silver suitcase during her appearances at the airport.
