A live webinar celebrating the recent opening of the refreshed Treasures Gallery.
The National Library of Australia building and the collections it holds are all treasures! In this virtual learning session you will hear from the curatorial team behind the new Treasures Gallery exhibition as they share some of their favourite items on display and discuss the stories they hold.
Topics covered in this session include key moments in our democratic history, snapshots of Australian life, learning about family history through precious heirlooms, pioneering female aviator Freda Thompson, selections from our Asian Collection, how the Wiggles are preserved through our Web Archive, and of course books, which are at the heart of the Library’s collection.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions, observe closely, and learn some research basics as you are guided through this diverse exhibition which will spark your curiosity.
Participants will join a live zoom webinar and will be able to contribute to the conversation and ask questions of a senior member of the Exhibitions team, Dr Grace Blakeley-Carroll.
