ACT Policing has arrested two male teenagers, aged 15 and 17, after they were each seen driving a stolen motor vehicle in Dickson late last night (January 23).
Around 11pm, General Duties officers from City Patrol were conducting mobile patrols around Dickson when they saw two cars, a white Mazda 121 and a red Mazda MX5, driving slowly behind the Canberra Tourism Information building. Both cars had been reported stolen to police earlier in the day.
The officers approached the two cars which were parked and apprehended the teenagers. The 17-year-old was apprehended in the driver’s seat of the Mazda 121, while the 15-year-old was apprehended next to the Mazda MX5 after officers watched him leaving the car.
The teenagers were conveyed to the ACT Watch House and both charged with Ride/Drive Motor Vehicle without Consent and Going Equipped for Theft.
They will both face the ACT Children’s Court this morning (January 24).
