Witnesses sought to alleged early morning attempted sexual assault

Police have called for witnesses after a naked man allegedly tried to sexually assault a woman.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said officers were called to Duffy Street in Ainslie at about 1:20 am today (12 February), following reports that a woman had been assaulted.

“The man allegedly grabbed the woman from behind and attempted to drag her away,” ACT Policing said.

“She was able to free herself and call for help.”

Police have described the man they are seeking as having a dark complexion, short stature, and a shaved head.

Their inquiries into his identity are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers ACT. Please quote 8301321.
