ACT records 725 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 725 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 376 identified by PCR and 349 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 58 people in hospital, including three in intensive care.

Since the pandemic began, 99,471 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 96.8 per cent, and 74.8 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 63.2 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported eight deaths overnight and 11,107 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported two deaths overnight and an additional 7,104 cases of COVID-19.
