i am disappointed by the mundane reason for the fire – why couldn’t it be another bus arson attack like that adelaide kiddies’ bus in civic a few weeks back? then rather than being known as the ‘bush capital’ we could be the ‘bus burnin’ capital’!

[Sadly their 1150 pictures of Action buses does not extend to the old galah coloured ones of my childhood.]

ACTbus tells us “Bus 148 met with an unfortunate fate earlier this week. While operating a northbound Route 66, a fire broke out in the engine compartment.

The vehicle is currently sitting next to what is left of 703 and 914 at Belconnen Depot, and we’ll let you know if we hear if ACTION choose to scrap it for parts or rebuild it.“

Cause of the fire appears to be unknown and uninteresting to bus-spotters.

Looks like engine overheated.
