Alleged thuggy brought to justice

I live near the area and wish he would of tried that on me! Seriously, the laws need to be tightened up and these people should be made to PAY so that they won’t do this again! Throw him in jail for 6 months!

Robbing a 61 year old man, wow what a dog.

Hope the beak is also 61, and feels some empathy for the victim rather than the criminal (for a change).

These are all words that this dog and those like him wouldn’t understand. However, the existence of such people is a fact of life, and we all need to recognise that, and take measures to minimise the harm they can do.

Be aware of your surroundings when out walking the dog. If potential attackers see that you are alert and have observed them, that can be enough to make them reconsider their plans.

Be suspicious of an unsolicited approach in the street. So many of these stories start with some sort of seemingly innocent approach by someone asking for directions, or a light, or the use of a phone. This is when the hoods are scoping you out. If you appear to be a clueless innocent, they will probably follow through on their plans. If you simply present yourself as a more difficult target through your body language, they may well choose to leave you alone.
