An end to the big dry?

I’ve been watching the miraculous “Canberra Phenomena” on the BOM radar website.

Rain forming and developing approaching Canberra, then mysteriously evaporating as it draws close…

There was rain yesterday? I’m trying to remember if I saw it, and i think I might, but I really don’t remember it. hmmm, must’ve been minimal. Noting some drizzle today though – even enough that I could feel the moisture through my suit pants by the time I walked from Belconnen Mall to Benjamin Offices.

Touch of light drizzle here at the moment..

Today’s rain was just a misty cloud that had got detached from the main event.

Some of that (the main event) is already reaching here, my deck is wet and I can hear dripping on the roof. That should increase tonight as the big coastal system reaches us. Should be wet tomrrow.

In fact the rain has just increased here… and will continue to do so throughout the night.

Lasted a whole 10 minutes. Though it was the first time I remember having to use the windscreen wipers on my new car for rain. I’ve had it more than 6 months.

Skinny winter for cows and sheep – rain would be fantastic.

Todays rain was definitely nothing to get naked over.

It was nice, but not worth streaking for.

I told my other half if it rained today I would run down the street naked. Yes there was slight drizzle, but in my opinion it was not rain. What do you think?

Sorry, no, it’s not an end to the big dry. The one we’ve been in for years, that is.

Tonight should see the coastal stuff reach us properly… there’s an arm reaching out, and the bulk of it’s behind that. So that’ll settle the dust and hopefully give us some milimetres and give the plants and trees something before the cold starts. (Which might be Friday, judging by how fast it’s coming in).

It looked more like a cold front that came up from Antarctica & if it was 20 or so degrees cooler, it would of fallen as snow.

I wish we had what Central Coast is having at the moment.
