It will surprise some to learn that Annette Ellis is the Member for Canberra in the Commonwealth Parliament.
For others it will be a surprise to learn, via the Canberra Times, that she’s off to New York for three months.
- Member for Canberra Annette Ellis has landed one of two highly prized spots as a parliamentary delegate to the UN General Assembly in New York.
The Labor MP will be joined by long-serving Nationals MP Paul Neville.
They will be based in the Department of Foreign Affairs office in New York, and will be working with the department for three months, from September 12 to early December.
There’s speculation it’s a victory lap before making way for Kevin Rudd’s protege Alistair Jordan to enter the Parliament in his own right.
But will anyone notice?
