Hey just wondering If anyone has tried the new place open up in the city near Transit bar; Digress Restaurant & Lounge.
I believe they opened this week just wanted to know if anyone had tried it and if it’s good?

I had dinner there a couple of weeks after it opened.. and it was a pretty average experience.
The entree tasted like ground pepper was the only ingredient.
I had a piece of teflon from one of the pots (the size of a toothpick) in my main… and while I was there I saw one of their ‘amazing cocktails’ poured in its entirety over a patron a table across from us by a nervous waiter (think wet t-shirt competition).
They were apologetic about the entire experience, but I haven’t yet made the time for a return visit.
I think the idea of mixing Italian / Indian is an interesting one.. I hope the other issues have since been ironed out.
I believe it is owned/run by the daughters/family of the owners of Indian Affair in Phillip, a restaurant I would highly recommend (http://www.indianaffair.com.au/).

I know what they should put on the cocktail list:
“Astroturf”:
Ingredients: 1 oz Green Creme de Menthe 1 oz Creme de Cacao 6 oz Milk 3 tsp Chocolate syrup
Method: Mix alcohols and milk in serving glass. Just before serving, squirt syrup and mix until it turns a grass-like green/brown color.
Sounds like a liquid mint slice. Who wants a brown drink? (Excepting beer of course.)
“The Cocktail’s are even better! I would definitly recommend this resturant to anyone. “
and
“Their cocktails are amazing and so delicious!”
Just to save me wasting my time … can you clarify for me – are the cocktails you had there, the first cocktails you ever had in your life? And to be more specific did the bartender refer to themselves as a “bartender” or a “mixologist”

I tried Digress for lunch a couple of weeks ago..what a find. They do a really good lunch deal with quick and attentive service!
Highly recommended.
Yeah same here. I’ve been a couple of times and would definitely recommend it.

Their cocktails are amazing and so delicious! And the food is pretty decent too. Also pretty amazing interior for a bar/restaurant that doesn’t have any windows!
But it’s somewhere I would only go very occasionally, because it’s a pretty expensive bar/restaurant, when you consider the high prices they charge for their small(ish) food portion sizes and their cocktails.
Yes your right. I went there this week to take a look and have a try. What a beautiful place. Amazing interior and great food. A wonderful place just to have a meal or just to have drinks with friends.
Its so calm. Recommend this place.
Great new addition to Canberra.
Hi there,
I have eaten at this resturant twice this week, and I thought the food was great! The Cocktail’s are even better! I would definitly recommend this resturant to anyone.
I think the fusion of Indian with Italian food is quite an interesting idea, and it works really well together!
