I’ve just converted my garage into an office, and need an electrician to add a new powerpoint and data point. Can anyone recommend a reputable sparky who would do a small job like this, preferably this week?
Thanks!

Just wondering if you needed or sought approval to do the reno, knowing how strict Actpla is with that kind of stuff. It may be relevant as the sparky will need to submit a certificate of electrical safety form which costs $25 regardless if it is just one power point or fifty. Red tape increasing costs for everyone…
…and saves lives, which are not worth $25 to some.

Slightly off topic but your garage probably hasn’t got any ceiling insulation and this will exacerbate the heat and cold.
Spend a few hundred dollars and get the thickest bats you can. You will save heaps on heating and cooling and also feel a lot more comfortable.
Install LED lighting while you are at it.
Sensible advice at last! 😀
I also suggest large north facing windows screened by deciduous vines or trees.
btw To my knowledge, so long as this is not “habitable space” there is no requirement for planning approval. It is all undoable anyway.
