Ask RiotACT: Home cooked meals?

Hi Rioters.

I’ve just moved from Sydney to Canberra. I was wondering if there are any home cooked meal services (delivery or pickup) in Canberra that people would recommend?

We’ve used Easy Life Meals and I quite liked it. For some reason my then nearly 12yo didn’t though.

Also used Youfoodz and we both hated it. They’re cheaper but they cut corners on ingredients.

Both deliver.

If you’re after a one off delivery, I’ve used Menulog to have Zambreros delivered and they were super fast.

I can recommend Gym meals direct. Good quality, nourishing food and great people running the company

Aha! Easy life meals is the other one – seems not to be running at all now. Gym Meals Direct has been a success for us though. They also freeze well if you don’t eat them within a week.

Gym Meals Direct are excellent. They deliver to you or you can collect on a Sunday evening and they have different side options as well as different portion sizes. They used to run another side cooking business with a lot more choices but that’s currently on hold while they find a bigger kitchen facility

Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Menulog all operate in Canberra. Deliveroo and Menulog have a website and mobile app. Uber Eats only has a phone app. The websites and apps list each restaurant, their menu’s and the delivery fee (if any).
