In contrast, the people of Australia have got the person (the polls say) they want. The “tens of thousands of people” who wanted Kevin to come back are the ones responsible for stroking Rudd’s ego.

It just may have come at the cost of a better and more effective politician, albeit one who is much less popular.

The people get the politicians they deserve: never has this been more true.

I dislike Rudd but I dislike Destroy the Joint, Women For Gillard, victim politics and all the other ideological garbage Gillard brought even more.

I remember reading about that in the print media, and hearing and seeing about it on radio and TV. Doesn’t mean it was true. I at least think it was exaggerated. And anyway, who cares if the PM is an asshole, so long as they are effective? I remember quite a lot of good stuff Rudd did too.

Well, farewell Julia. Pity Kevin did not do ‘the right thing’ when he lost the leadership the first time around. I was dismayed that her exit will be treated by some as a loss for women, when really it is a loss for dull ideologues, ideologues who spouted vacuous university lefty banalities at every occasion. Julia was not an inspiring leader and her final days of justifying her position by invoking feminist incantations was likely the final straw. Pity. Hope we get some better leaders next time around.
