A private landholder will today, Tuesday 24 September, 2013, weather permitting, conduct a small hazard reduction burn on the property “Belconnen Station”, Stockdill Drive, near the Belconnen Golf Club, Holt.
The pile burns are expected to commence from 8.30am and may last through the day.
The ACT Handy Map grid reference for the Holt burn is I10.
Temporary smoke cover may occur.
The Health Directorate advises that people with asthma, other chronic respiratory and/or chronic cardiac diseases should not perform vigorous exercise and should stay inside if affected by the smoke. People with asthma in particular should continue their medication and consult their general practitioner if they have any difficulties.
