ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after police responded to a report of an attempted aggravated robbery in Tralee Street, Hume yesterday (October 16).
Around 11.50am, police were called to a business in Tralee Street after two men, driving a silver BMW, attempted to rob an employee of the business while he was sitting in his vehicle. One of the men smashed a window of the employee’s vehicle with a metal pole and made demands for money.
As a result of the window being smashed, the victim sustained facial injuries. He was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No money was stolen during the robbery.
The man armed with the metal pole is described as having a medium build, had his face covered with a bandana and was wearing a baseball cap.
Police are urging anyone that may have witnessed the attempted aggravated robbery, or seen a silver BMW travelling at high speed along Tralee Street, Hume or along the Monaro Highway towards the Tuggeranong area to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
