Body found in Downer house following fire

Emergency services have found the body of a woman after responding to a small house fire in Downer early Saturday morning (13 March).

ACT Fire and Rescue found the body a short time after extinguishing the fire, which was in a single room of the Atherton Street house.

Police are currently investigating the woman’s cause of death and will prepare a report for the coroner.
