One of Canberra’s most eagerly awaited residential complexes is about to rise from the ground at its Turner site.

With site works well underway in preparation for the arrival of the piling rig in November, Botanical Turner will soon start to make its mark on the Northbourne Avenue corridor.

Botanical Stage 1 will eventually stand nine storeys tall and deliver 249 one, two and three-bedroom apartments to the market.

Developed by Amalgamated Property Group in partnership with Base Developments, Botanical is being built by Milin Builders, a company known for its numerous award-winning projects across the ACT.

Designed by award-winning SJB Architects, Botanical offers spacious residences located on the edge of the city, Haig Park and within walking distance of Braddon, O’Connor and the CBD.

They have proved popular, with almost half of the Stage 1 apartments already sold.

Contributing to that popularity in the market are the range of amenities on offer, including a concierge, an indoor lap pool set among greenery, a spa, sauna, steam room, and a fully equipped gym.

Amalgamated says this reflects the expectations of a discerning market and its lifestyle-led approach.

It says SJB Architects has made a statement with Botanical in both presence and liveability.

A bold geometric form is layered in a palette of red brick, terracotta and crisp white, with an architectural nod to Canberra’s history.

Carefully integrated communal spaces, including a landscaped courtyard, arched walkways and open thoroughfares, give residents a sense of connection and ease.

Amalgamated Property Group principal and founding director Graham Potts said the market’s positive response affirms the vision for Botanical.

“To see construction now underway is a milestone for both our team and our buyers,” he said.

“Nearly half of the residences have been secured in this first stage, which validates our approach of creating homes that are both distinctive in design and generous in scale.

“Botanical is more than a residential project, it’s a contribution to the future of Canberra’s inner north, designed to hold its value for generations to come.”

LJ Hooker agent Keenan Veraar said Botanical Turner had exceeded expectations in terms of demand, attracting strong interest from the outset.

“I believe that is because of three key factors: its beautiful build form, the generous apartment sizes, and buyers know they are purchasing into a project backed by one of Canberra’s most respected development partnerships,” Mr Veraar said.

“Amalgamated and Base have delivered time and again, and that consistency gives people confidence.”

Mr Veraar said SJB Architects had created outstanding projects interstate using similar tones and materials, reassuring buyers that Botanical would set a new benchmark for Canberra.

Principal of Base Developments and Milin Builders, Dennis Milin, said construction was advancing on schedule.

“Off-site works and site servicing are nearing completion, with excavation and preparation for piling equipment in progress to allow for the commencement of basement earthworks,” he said.

“The project will be defined by the same uncompromising standards and attention to detail that underpin every one of our developments.”

Prices start from $610,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to $2,875,000 for a luxury, three-bedroom penthouse.
