ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a road rage incident that occurred in Bonython yesterday afternoon (Friday, February 10).
Between 2.45pm and 3pm the victim, in a grey Toyota sedan, was driving west along Isabella Drive just before Drakeford Drive roundabout, where he observed two vehicles turn from a side street and continue travelling in unison on the same road as him.
After changing lanes the victim’s vehicle was in between the two cars when the driver of the front vehicle stopped suddenly requiring the victim to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
The driver of the front vehicle got out of his white Econovan with a baseball bat and approached the victim’s car, smashing the front windscreen with one stroke and then leaving.
The second vehicle travelling behind the victim’s car is described as a white sedan.
The offender is described as 5’11, with an olive complexion, about 25 to 28 years of age with a shaved head. He was wearing a singlet and board shorts with no shoes. There was also a passenger in the offender’s car.
Anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
