A teenage boy went to Canberra Hospital for medical assistance before he allegedly began assaulting several staff members.

The 17-year-old attended the hospital to receive treatment just after midnight on Thursday morning (26 June), an ACT Policing spokesperson said.

He then allegedly became aggressive and violent towards staff.

“Police allege the boy physically assaulted a number of staff members before being restrained by security staff,” the spokesperson said.

Officers arrived at the hospital and arrested the 17-year-old before taking him to the ACT Watch House.

He has been scheduled to face ACT Children’s Court on Thursday charged with two counts of common assault.
