Twitter brings the intelligence that the notorious Brodburger have set an opening date of 27 March for their new home at the Glassworks.
That will make a lot of people very happy, but it will be interesting to see how the experience translates.

I got to do a taste test or something on Friday.
I got the vegie burger with no cheese or aoli (vegan) and it was just as i remeber it, plus the new joint looks really nice!
I don’t think anyone cares what the cheeseless veggie burgers taste like.
To be fair, we must assume that Aaroncbr agrees with you, as no review or adjectives were given.
Cool dudes right here.
So they had to shut down because the little red van didn’t suit the aesthetics of the NCA, yet they can park it on the naturestrip, visible from the road, barely 50 metres away from its original ‘unsuitable’ location – to attract business ? Why have they blown all that dough building a new Brodburger when apparently they just had to tow it a few yards.
Somehow, the avid concentration in the photo would indicate to me that those are not vegan burgers without cheese or aioli. Or even with.

Can they cook more than one burger at a time now? Or is the charming one-hour wait – two if it’s busy – still on the cards?
Good luck to them,
I hope they can make the transition from the van to a shop, I think its a shame and they will loose some of the charm of the lakeside van. Also I guess thier rent will increase and thier flexibility over opening hours will change. Also they will require more staff, I hope all of us who previously went there still support them in thier new location.
I guess Sunday mornings will be a big trade with the Old Bus Depot Moarkets nextdoor.
anyway we need places like this in Canberra so good luck guys and girls

I went to the new one today and the furniture was all out – it looked very open
Official Opening today, open to the public beginning tomorrow morning.
The place itself looks fantastic!

The burgers aren’t that great. My burgers are better.
Please post opening hours, location and prices so we can organise a review.
Fantastic news. I actually found myself driving past the old van and Glassworks every week or two in the vain hope that it was open again, only to move on with a sinking feeling deep in my heart.
Luckily that feeling disappeared when I remembered there is a good little Mexican place nearby.

I think he wanted a hamburger though.
Deep down, isn’t that what all of us want?
I drove past the red caravan on Friday lunchtime, and saw a young man forlornly peering at the front of the van, probably reading that notice. I think he wanted a hamburger though.
