I just received the pamphlet telling me what the ACT govt money is being spent on for the next financial year.
the best example is the literacy on the $2m duplication for athllon drive – ANKATELL Street, not Anketell Street.
read it, i urge you…

Where’s my dragway??
in the same place as the supercars – anywhere but here…
i don’t think it’s a waste at all, i like being informed on what our money is being wasted on. like, the live in canberra campaign which should be re-titled “STAY in canberra” as it hasn’t stopped the 2 people a week (or whatever it is) figure leaving canberra or directly had anything to do with the people coming here yet it still exists – go figure!! or the advertisements for the new ACTION network. i am a fan of the changes and all the ACTION staff, from driver to administrators are very hard workers. but i would’ve preferred my advertising money to be spent on something a hell of a lot cooler!!
sonic is getting desperate, this junk mail is proof.
Bye bye in the next election sonic…. good riddance to bad rubbish.
I hope they had fridge magnets attached. At least you can pick those off and put them to good use before putting the spam in the big bin. Before the federal election, I was getting Gary Nairn spam every flapping day. Our taxes at work. It’s obscene. Out here we’re paying Canberra rates for our rates (but no services, which we don’t want anyway). Spamming people in this situation was NOT a good idea, and I imagine it tipped quite a few people away from him.
We’ve recycled ours already. You can tell its an election year… the waffle has started.
They couldn’t think of anything to spend the money on, so they spent it on trees, wouldn’t want the money to go to waste.
in the tuggeranong section – here is what they are doing for tuggeranong:
Health: refurbishment of the Tuggeranong Health Centre
Roads / Integrated Transport: $11m upgrade of tharwa drive and the misspelled athllon drive / anketell street works
Improving urban amenities: $5m for the construction of Calwell High School performing Arts Centre (wow – what a drama class!)
All of the zones have one thing in common:
Climate change: additional tree plantings at Lake tuggeranong, Burley griffin, Ginninderra, gungahlin and a whopping $10.6m for the arboretum.
what happens when there is another fire in the area?
no more arboretum.
what a waste of money, from a nowaste government.
Funny enough it came with a pamplet for one of the labor election candidates, both were promply put in the pile to be recycled without being read.
