Can anyone recommend a really good dry cleaner?

I’m fed up with my local, and anyway it’s usually closed by the time I’m able to get there after work. So can anyone else who lives/works in Civic tell me the best dry cleaner they know? I have a lot of evening clothes, suedes, delicate fabrics, that sort of thing, so I’m not keen to just leave them with the local newsagent or whatever to be shipped off and brought back. Any suggestions?

Okay, not in Civic as requested, but I have always had good results from Top Cat in Kingston.

Thanks, everyone – I’ll try out those first two (not First Choice at Woden, though, sorry, Meconium! Have had more bad reports than good).

The upshot seems to be – not too many good dry cleaners in Canberra.

I don’t dry clean very often, but First Choice Cleaners in Woden are pretty good.

I can tell you which not to use. The dry cleaners next door to Subway – opposite the taxi rank. She’s a miserable old cow (the owner) and needs a course in customer service ASAP!

There’s the Our Dry Cleaner’s(?) based in the Key King shop at City Executive suites there…

They don’t do a bad job on cleaning, but customer service is pretty variable.

Gildon Dry Cleaners – are they still down the bottom of the Canberra Centre? They were very good. I took a 1930’s lace dress in and they told me to save my money (and the delicate fabric) and gave me instructions on how to hand-wash it instead. They get lots of “trustworthy” points from me.
