The Legislative Assembly is sometimes criticised for giving the impression it would rather be conducting foreign policy than the more mundane chores of running a city.

Andrew Barr has further armed such critics by naming “Ambassadors” for our fair city:

The Trade and Investment Ambassadors program features 12 successful ACT exporters. They are remarkable Canberrans who are well placed – and willing – to tell anyone abroad who will listen about what Canberra offers in the provision of world-class services exports.

Ambassadors are appointed for two years and were selected by industry peers. They will provide regular reports back to local exporters on their activities.

Your Ambassadors are:

    — Brent Juratowitch
    — Michael Cliff
    — Professor David Widdowson
    — Peter Murphy
    — Dr Ed Roberts
    — Phillip Williamson
    — Glenn Keys
    — Rod Sandison
    — Greg Corra
    — Professor Stephen Parker
    — Marita Corra
    — Stewart Rendall
