Canberra shoppers have spoken – and their favourite ALDI delivery snack is Belmont Biscuit Co’s Chocolate Flavoured Crème Wafers (125 g).
The finding comes as the German supermarket’s new home delivery service officially goes national, with NSW the final state to join today (16 September).
Since 8 July, Canberra shoppers could order over 1800 ALDI products online and have them delivered straight to their door through DoorDash. The only catch? No Special Buys (so you’ll have to go to a store tomorrow to buy a Fruit and Vegetable Spiraliser).
“We’re thrilled that customers in Canberra will be able to shop with ALDI from the comfort of their homes,” ALDI Australia chief commercial officer Jordan Lack said at the time.
“We will be watching our Canberra trial very closely with plans to scale in the near future.”
After two months of progressively rolling it out across other states, ALDI has announced the service is now available at “most ALDI locations across Australia”.
NSW stores now follow those in Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, Victoria and the ACT in offering home delivery through DoorDash.
“Whether it’s midweek essentials, forgotten ingredients, weekend top-ups, or their full haul, most customers around the country can now order their ALDI favourites online and have their haul delivered straight to their doors,” ALDI Australia group director Simon Padovani-Ginies said.

The very first items ordered in Canberra included nappies and wipes, as well as two bags of cat food and a pack of toilet paper – all within hours of it going live.
During the trial, Canberrans proved themselves to have the nation’s biggest sweet tooth too, with our ALDI shoppers choosing the sweet Belmont Biscuit Co. Chocolate Flavoured Crème Wafers 125 g as their “ultimate snack”.
Other jurisdictions proved more savoury, with Queensland, Victoria and South Australia going for Sprinters Corn Chips Cheese Extreme (200 g) and Western Australia for the Sprinters Crinkle Cut Multipack 20 Pack (380 g).

Nationally, the essentials of fresh produce, milk and eggs were purchased in about a quarter of all ALDI orders, and a third of orders were placed on weekends.
“From emergency orders of nappies and wipes, snacking essentials to the full weekly shop, customers have been raving about the new level of convenience the service unlocks for them,” Mr Padovani-Ginies said.
“It’s fantastic to be able to celebrate the service rolling out nationally from today.”
