ACT Ambulance Service Intensive Care Paramedics are currently transporting a female aged approximately in her 30`s to the Canberra Hospital following a fire in a Cabin at the Southside Caravan Park. The patient is in a stable condition.

ACT Fire & Rescue Firefighters are assisting in the transportation of the patient by driving the ambulance while Intensive Care Paramedics provide medical care.

The fire is believed to have started near a mattress in the on-site single room cabin. ACT Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the area of origin. The cause of the fire will be investigated. Initial reports estimate $40 000 worth of damage to the Cabin.

ACT Fire & Rescue wish to remind ACT residents of the importance of regularly maintaining working smoke alarms in all dwellings, especially during cooler months.
