A man and a teenager have been charged after a nine-year-old boy was accidentally shot and died on a rural property near Goulburn on the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a property on Fernleigh Close in Windellama, a locality about 40 km south of Goulburn, over reports of a shooting on Sunday morning (13 April), a NSW Police spokesperson said.

Officers were told a nine-year-old boy had been injured after a firearm was unintentionally discharged.

Paramedics treated the boy for serious neck injuries but he died at the scene.
