Chief Justice Murrell begins the labours of Hercules

So the wheels of justice are grinding yet exceedingly more slowly. Perhaps we could import Judge Judy of daytime television fame for a few months. Admission could be charged to add a few shekels to the community chest and a uniquely Canberran TV show could be produced and syndicated. The possibilities are endless. We should be treating our recidivist ratbags as a resource rather than a drain on the public purse.
Lunchtime hearings could be conducted at a club near you and a bit of spirited audience participation utilised to aid in sentencing. Sentencing offenders to a period of ashtray cleaning and puke removal while administering a modicum of vigorous rib tickling with pool cues should get the punters in.
Some practice along the lines of a slave auction would also make far more effective use of wrongdoers and miscreants and save the exorbitant costs of imprisonment. Let’s be a bit more creative in our bogan bashing.

I would say more like that of Sisyphus – Hercules was able to complete his task whereas Sisyphus was forever doomed to push a large rock up a mountainl…..or in modern parlance “pushing s#%@ uphill”.
