ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious fire in Spence which occurred early this morning (Thursday, December 29).
Around 12.45am, police attended the Mount Rogers Community Centre on Crofts Crescent and found a large skip bin on fire.
The fire caused structural damage to a church at the centre, with the total estimated damage exceeding $100,000.
ACT Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire, and AFP Forensic Services is investigating the cause.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in Spence early this morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information to Crime Stoppers can be provided anonymously.
