ACT Policing has arrested a 37-year-old Cook man after an investigation into several historical sexual assaults in which the victims were girls.
Police will allege that the man, who was aged in his late teens and early 20s when the alleged offences took place, sexually assaulted the girls, aged between seven and 12, both at a rural sanctuary within the ACT and at a community meeting in Dickson.
The alleged offender was formally interviewed yesterday (October 27) by ACT Policing’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Team (SACAT). He was then conveyed to the ACT Watch House.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (October 28), charged with multiple acts of indecency and sexual assault. Police will be opposing bail.
