This in from the Brumbies on the state of the Wallabies captain amongst us:

CA Technologies Brumbies flanker Rocky Elsom suffered a syndesmosis injury on his left ankle while playing against the Western Force in Perth on Saturday night.

The Wallaby Captain underwent scans on Monday afternoon but the exact outcome, including length of time required on the sideline, will not be known until later in the week.

While it is unlikely Elsom will be fit to play against the Stormers on Saturday in Canberra, CA Technologies Brumbies medical staff will assess his situation through Monday night and Tuesday morning with the hope that he will return for the ACT based team at some stage in the remaining four games.

He’ll be fine just before the Wallabies squad is picked.
