ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a robbery in Reid last night (Monday, June 6) in which a 33-year-old woman was injured and had her bag stolen.
About 6.45pm the victim had been riding her bicycle along Constitution Avenue, through the Anzac Parade intersection, when a silver sedan drove up close behind her.
The passenger in the vehicle grabbed the victim’s bag which she had slung over her shoulder, causing the victim to fall forward off her bicycle.
As a result of the incident, the victim received some minor injuries to her hand and elbow as well as significant swelling around her right eye. She was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment to her injuries.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
