DJs must have decided to do floating floors their own way, hence the flood.

My nephew does floating floors and was brought in from Sydney to do a section in DJs a few years back after the big storm. They had them work nights so as not to disturb customers, but DJs refused to keep customers off the workspace during the day, so they kept having to restart. Eventually, they told them the job couldn’t be done under those circumstances, and went back to Sydney, with the job barely started, and charged them twice what the job would have cost if they had just let them do it and kept the new floor free of traffic for two days. I think with a history of stupid decisions like that, they’ll be closed a long time…

Nah, their insurance would cover the disruption, the lost sales, and the lost stock.

LOL – takes me back to my first job with a plumber, my boss did something similar at Grace Bros in Forbes…. they had a fantastic damaged goods sale….The down side was the basement flooded, and that was where the shut off valve was!..Seems the flange failed about 5.36pm Friday night, and as was the case back in the day, was not discovered till 8.45 am Monday….Thats a lot of water!!

LOL. I’ve learned from experience that the water in those pipes gets very, very dirty from rust, crap in the system etc. In short you’re not left with clean water to mop up, more like brown sludge. There must be a lot of ruined clothes in DJs.

I noticed that, it reminded me of another post on RA where permission was denied to take photos in the new Canberra Centre, probably when it first opened, but it was the Centre management that refused.

There’s access suitable for wheelchair access on the ground floor at the entrance opposite Vodafone/Centrepoint, also near the cosmetic counter on the same level.

On lower ground you can get in near the porcelain/glassware section. The upper level entrance is also okay.

Sure, not every entrance is suitable, but out of the six entrances to the store four are suitable for wheelchair entry.

It has rained more inside that store than it has in the past 5+ years across the rest of Canberra. I think that’s at least the 4th time now from storms or the sprinkler system.. Must be costing them more in repairs than in the sale they’re making.

I was wondering what was the go when I went to browse at lunch time. I wandered off instead of asking the people the same question they’d probably been asked hundreds of times.
