Can anyone advise on defensive driving driving courses for P platers?
There are a few available in Canberra but I would love to hear other rioters opinions on the good, the bad and the ugly.
Who to go to?

I highly recomend Rick Bates.. He is Neal Bates Brother (the rally driver). He operates his course out of TISC.. Ring Neal bates automoyive in Hume for details… His course is fun, and addresses the real issues on the road

When I bought my first car and of course my first car insurance policy I went through AAMI and they paid for me (because my parents also had a policy) to do a defensive driving course in Sutton. I’m not sure if it is different to the regular course they run out their but it was very beneficial for me.
> The best defense is a good offense!
No shortage of offensive drivers.

Both my kids did a course there and thought it was very beneficial.
I did one with Rick Bates quite a number of years ago. http://www.batesadvanceddriving.com/
It was a good course and taught me some good things about car handling, but didn’t do much for my attitude which took a few years to settle itself down. Delivering pizzas probably didn’t help that either 🙂
No question – 5th Gear Motoring. Dereck and his team are fantastic. I’ve done a few defensive courses and skidpan days and couldn’t fault them.
