Hi Rioters,

Well I have knocked out one of my tooth while riding and have been looking at getting a detnal implant done as I currently have a false teeth denture which is very uncomfortable and makes it really hard to eat or speak.

I have been quoted around $5 grand at Kambah Dental surgery and was wondering if anyone else has had a dental implant done before and if so how much and which denist do you recommend.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Like to gamble?? Cheap means CHEAP. I know a guy who is still trying to fix up broken dental implants done overseas.. 2 years later!!. Biggest mistake of his life!! Get it done once, get it done right is what i think.

Phillipines is another option

They do same day dental implants (actually 5 days but you get the implant the first day) in Costa Rica for about $1000. R/T air is also reasonable. Check out http://www.costaricandental.com

I would take a few vacation days to save several thousand.

Hope this helps,

Yeh Would love to go overseas and make a trip of it but with work that doesn’t look like its going to happen. As Ive heard it can take like 3 months to get a dental implant done.

Might have to call around and get some advice but thanks for the help

I had dental implants done this year at Preventive Dental at Deakin, I am really, really happy with the results, and customer service etc. Yes it is expensive but it is so worth it, comfort wise they feel like real teeth. I had much more than a single tooth done, so I can’t say what that would cost.

If you’re not averse to a little civil unrest, go to Thailand. $1500 US will give you a new smile. Make a holiday of it and you will still have change from the $5k quoted over here.

A bottle of Vodka, needle nose pliers and a willing cadaver.

I think that is about what they cost, Dr Tucker in Kingston is worth a visit.
