Did you see a woman get beaten up in the Civic bus interchange yesterday afternoon?

I believe it’s called the ‘Bystander Effect’ and I’m guessing no one intervened. It’s rare someone breaks the mold.

I was once beaten in Civic at a commutable time. (6:35 pm)

Out of th 50+ people that were witnesses, one intervened and stopped the attack.

Don’t rely on hope, many people do not want to get involved.

All this talk of people being attacked and people just turning the other way.

Is this what even happened?? I haven’t seen any reports to say that it did…

New York have the ‘Guardian Angels’ and apparently a chapter was formed in Canberra,in 2008,but has yet to begin patrolling.With the silly season coming up it’s time to come out of the woodwork,Katy’s Angels!

Yep. Start intervening amongst that mob and they’re likely to all turn on you, much like if you intervene in a domestic.

Intervene in a full-on domestic and you will soon become a convenient target for the rage.

If they’re the regular civic junkie crowd, I’d be reluctant to intervene unless it really looked like it was serious (ie: if they’re yelling and flailing at each other, nope. If they’re laying into someone curled up on the ground – yes).
I’d rather not run the risk of having all three turn on me for ‘interfering when nothing was happening’.
